Rosinha,
I liked your book O Segredo Alem do Pensamento very much!
I started with a great amount of trepidation. All the images, symbols, and words tended me to think of the book of what I disparagingly call “ding-a-ling” books. Those self help books I associate with the use of Asiatic mysticism and undigested pseudo-science that sell so well throughout the world. Words like “divino”, ‘mago”, “segredo” turn me off as it make me think of esoteric bookstores with incense and hippies (an interesting and colorful fauna with little content or profundity).
With all my prejudices I started reading the book. As I read I came to a tentative conclusion that all my objections were for marketing “news bites” that sell a book and attract so many readers to keep reading. To me they became bumps on the road of a pleasurable and learning reading.
I learned that you have wisdom, that you are a most interesting person, and that you have a lot of as significant experiences and thoughts to share. You are the kind of person one would like to know well. Your anecdotes are rich.
I learned to skip the exercises for I quickly decided that this book was not a self-help book, but a memoir. Many of the subjects and citations are familiar to me and I have come across them in other sources. But for the reading public they are presented in a fresh and interesting way. I’m recommending that my wife read it for personal benefit as well as to convince her that recommending is worth the effort. Thanks for the experience.
Um abraço,
Robert I.
